Tracy Arm, a classic fjord, has it all- tidewater and elevated glaciers, breathtaking mountains and sheer rock walls that reach up over a mile high with waterfalls that tumble down to the emerald green water, and Alaskaâ??s largest icebergs. Watch for whales, bears, mountain goats, hundreds of harbor seals, and a variety of birds such as eagles, arctic terns, kittiwakes, and pigeon guillemots.

An awesome day!!
Our group of two couples had the best day. The boat was comfortable with plenty of space - which made it great to move around plus to take photos. Alyssa, the skipper, was excellent: She knew so much about the area, made it a really pleasant cruise, and spent extra time to circle around looking for whales on the way out and back. Alyssa guided the boat to be really really close to two glaciers, slowed right down next to numerous icebergs, took us right to touching distance of a couple of waterfalls, plus found us whales, seals and mountain goats. We weren’t sure about how the long day would turn out but the time went really well as there was so much to see and the day was full of wow moments. It will be a highlight of our trip.

Great tour and crew!
We took a day long tour of Tracey Arm. It is definitely a full day but very much worth it. The crew was great and very helpful. We stayed at the glacier for over an hour just watching (a cruise ship based tour came and left in that time). We also lucked out and saw numerous whales and a bunch of bears. Some of the best money we spent on our Alaska trip.

It’s an all-day adventure, and the scenery doesn’t stop. Whales, bears, glaciers, waterfalls, mountains, and friendly knowledgeable crew make for a can’t-miss experience if you have a day in Juneau

This was an amazing trip. We saw so many magnificent things, it’s hard to share them all. Lots of icebergs, both the free floating blue monoliths as well as those that scarily scraped the bottom of the boat at the foot of the spectacular glacier. Humpbacks, a bear, and eagles galore.

When 90% of Travelers Rate It Excellent, Ignore the Others!
Notice that this is rated low in Juneau because cruise ships usually can't schedule it, but it is one of the highest rated adventures in Alaska And once you go you will know why. The beauty is breathtaking, the crew is great and the picnic food is cheap and good. Alyssa, Colton an John are friendly, fun and personable, making you really enjoy the tour and though not billed as a wildlife tour, they score whales and other wildlife nearly every time, because they aim to please and give their all to make your day in this unforgettable fjord a highlight of Alaska. Rated in top 3 things done in Alaska by most of our clients on 2 week tour.

Simply the best
We had a beautiful day, sun sun and more sun. May 30th 2019 was indeed a great day. Everything about the staff, boat, captain, deckhands was professional and friendly. The scenery was magnificent, from whales, bears, eagles, seals, sea lions and then there was the massive glacier. Wow, it was great and we even got to experience the calving. pretty awe inspiring. Yes its a long trip but the over results were brilliant. Special thanks to a great captain who really knew how to handle the boat. Wow did we get up close and personal to the waterfalls!! Excellent stuff!! He was always polite and friendly as were the deckhands and the Cap even welcomed us up into the bridge to chat. For us four Aussies it was a 10/10 for our experience - Well done mateys !!

We just did this tour today on the boat Captain Cook. Weather was not the best during the tour and it rained off/on which I heard is the norm here. My son and I got queasy after 30 minutes to 1 hour we left the port. Fellow passengers are very friendly and offered us Bonine (meclizine). We also went to sit outside on the deck which helped a lot. After another hour or so, we both felt much better. The scenery is beautiful. I was not sure if this 9-hour boat tour would be too much for my 10 year old boy to handle who is not a fan of sightseeing. He did whine when he was feeling queasy, but after that passed, he cuddled with my husband and me on the deck and was all chipper. The crew members James, Joe and Jake are supper nice. The sandwiches and snacks/drinks they serve on the ship are priced beyond reasonable. The sandwiches are $5, soda and hot drinks are $1 each, even cheaper than the price you pay in Downtown Juneau. They keep a tab for passengers and you pay at the end of the trip. I did prepare sandwiches and snacks on my own, but my boy decided to order the sandwiches on the boat. He ended up eating 2 sandwiches during the 9 hour-trip which made me very happy! We didn't see mountain goat or whales, but saw sea lions on the iceberg. I met 2 Juneau local couples on the this ship who came with out-of-town friends. For $160+per adult, this trip is worth every penny!

Captain James and his crew gave us a wonderful day sailing into Tracy Arm Fiord, getting in amongst the icebergs and up to the face of the South Sawyer Glacier. Calving was amazing and the other highlights just added to the day. Thank you Captain Cook and crew. Everything was perfect.

The day long trip to Tracy Arm was one of the highlights of our Alaska trip by far. The crew was super friendly and informative and the views all day are to die for. You can bring your own lunch/snacks or they have reasonably priced sandwiches and snacks on board. They definitely don't try to gouge you with food prices like a lot of tour companies and lots of people also brought their own food. The trip is about 8-9 hours and the boat can get full so I recommend getting there early to board to get seats by your group especially if you have more than 2 people. The captain was great and was constantly on the lookout for wildlife to stop for point out. The crew got just as excited by the wildlife as the passengers and they always took the time to stop to watch wildlife, pull right up next to waterfalls to feel the spray or turn the boat to get that perfect picture of an iceberg or the glacier. When you get to the glacier at the end of the fjord they stop the boat and turn off the motor for about an hour to float and watch the glacier calf. It is a great experience to hear the cracking of the ice and the cannonball-like boom as it hits the water. We saw it calf about 4-5 times while we were stopped. We saw lots of wildlife - eagles, a pair of puffins, bears, porpoises, seals. And the views up and down the fjord are just absolutely breathtaking. I could not recommend this trip or the crew more! Go - you won't be disappointed!

Had a terrific day today. Visiting Tracy arm fjord and at the end of it is the South Sawyer glacier. Captain Steve highly knowledgeable. Took lots of time never felt rushed. As a bonus we saw orca killer whales along the way back. Also seals of course at the glacier lots of them. Truly enjoyable experience.

We boarded our catamaran directly from the Emerald Princess cruise ship. The crew were all super friendly! Marina, the naturalist, did a fabulous job explaining things to us. Was hilarious & would answer any questions we had. She and Lukas *aka* Prince Harry made everybody crack up!!! Captain Daniel did a fabulous job getting us up close to not only the glacier, but the waterfalls as well. Saw lots of seals & humpbacks!

Wow....I could stop there, but I'll give you some more details. We all concluded that if we did nothing else, we could have gone home after our day on the Adventure Bound and it would have been worthwhile. It will be hard to top our day. We saw the glacier calve multiple times plus we saw eagles, a bear, multiple seals, sea lions, plus humpbacks.

There were a lot of icebergs in front of the glacier, but with careful maneuvering, Captain Steve got us quite close to the face (but not too close). We were rewarded with an awesome calving and felt the effects of it later as the ripples spread out. There were multiple smaller calvings and Captain Steve made the most of our time. When the boat is stopped, were had full run of the deck. When underway, there is a clearly delineated area that we needed to stay out of so that the Captain has a clear view for navigating

Fantastic experience! If you have half a day to spend in Juneau, do not hesitate to book this tour. Tracy Arm Fjord is breathtaking, Sawyer Glacier is amazing. The glacier calved several times while we were there. This is a one-of-a-kind experience. A chance to get up close and personal to a glacier, waterfalls and the beauty of nature at its finest. Captain Steve and crew were the best. Very well educated on the area, open to questions and just flat out nice people. They had made-to-order sandwiches, snacks, coffee, hot cocoa, water, etc. for a reasonable price, or you can bring your own. Don't pass this adventure up!

The captain and crew were great and were wonderful with the kids. The tour itself is one of my favorite things near Juneau. I'd do it again and again.
