My father-in-law has an account with this bank. Since it is on my way to work I offered to drop a deposit off for him in the morning so he wouldn't have to go out if he didn't need to. I pulled into the parking lot in back of the bank. It is clearly marked for Ameriserv customers. . I had scrubs on cause I work as a CNA at a nursing home. I got out of the car and was looking for something in my purse. While I was looking I heard a woman's voice. I looked up and she said in a snotty tone to me that I was going to have a bad day because I had to move my car. I asked her why. She said hospital people aren't allowed to park in this parking lot. I said I was going to the bank to put in a deposit. She said don't you work at the hospital. I told her no. She said well I am sick of these hospital employees parking in our lot. I wasn't paying attention to the time and also I forgot to turn my clock back in the car so I was thinking it was 9. She told me the bank doesn't open till 9 and it was only 8. I said you have an overnight deposit don't you and she said yeah right inside the door. I said okay, I will just use that. She was still acting like I was lying and that I was parking my car there to go to work. And since it's not my bank of course I didn't know its hours and if it had overnight deposit. So of course it looked like I was making up the story. I went and made the deposit and came out to get in my car. She waited outside for me to make sure I left! She just assumed that since I had scrubs on that I worked at the hospital. I wish I would have got her name because the way she was treating me was uncalled for. I didn't know you could be discriminated against for what you wear! By the way this was the bank at 1059 Franklin Street across from the hospital. Make sure you don't wear scrubs to this bank because you won't be allowed to park in its parking lot!
