Is it worth it?

I am looking into going to this school. I have heard good & bad things. I hear it is one of the best schools in the area & that the school prepares you for the state board. However on the bad side I have heard the teachers are very rude, degrading to students & overly critical on every single detail. I don't mind teachers pushing me to do my best but I don't want to enroll to have a teacher talk to me like I'm nothing. I am there to learn & to become the best I can be, however I don't want to be in tears every day because they make me feel like I cant do what is required. So my question is to people that have gone to JLA..Is it worth it???

Not living up to potential

As a graduaate of JLA I must say that I am very disappointed at all of the drama that took place during my stay there. When I began classes the school "appeared" top notch. That quickly went down the tubes during the course of my time there. JLA has the potential to be an excellent school if the "powers that be" would realize that the students are their best clients. Students ARE the income for JLA. They ARE your best clients. It was apparent to me that JLA has lost sight of he importance of the students and I became very weary of hearing that we were "just students". My wish for JLA is that they would realize how important the actual education for students is and not focus ENTIRELY on the $$$ that they can bring in. Be real people!!! Care and realize that you have the ability (and responsibility) to shape peoples lives, not just yours. Focus on the students and make them your priority and the all important $$$ will follow. Good luck.

Looking Good in Johnson City

I went here with the same "Do" I've had for years. My stylist suggested something new, different cut and color!I have received many compliments and my husband loves it!I will definitley return.

A great place to go to school

I couldn't be happier with the education I received at JLA. Yes, the instructors can be strict. Unfortunately not all the students are serious about their studies and require the instructors to treat them like kids sometimes. But if you are serious about learning, JLA is the place to be. I found everyone to be supportive and helpful. I graduated with the knowledge and confidence to pass my state board exam the first time!

DONT BE FOOLED BY THEM!!!

This school has nothing but a negative environment and the students are treated so unfair!!!! They leave out state board laws and imbezzle Pell grant money!!! Just do your research before signing any papers affiliated with Jenny Lea Academy...

was hell

very strict which can be a good thing as far as education goes, but as far as i know my self confidence droped, they pick at every one of your flaws and make you feel like shit. ALL THE INSTRUCTORS think they are better than you and treat you like a kid.

waste of money to go here

come to this school and spend 8K dollars to be treated like a 1st grader. Boot camp is better than the hazing that goes on here in the aesthetics program
