Background Julia was born and raised in the metro-Atlanta area. She graduated from the University of Georgia with dual degrees in Anthropology and Political Science. She went on to earn her law degree at the University of South Carolina School of Law with a concentration in children's law. During law school, Julia served as the research editor of the Journal of Law and Education and president of Women in Law. Julia was an active member of the Pro Bono Board. She also served as an inaugural member of Konduros Leadership Development Program. Julia served as a clerk for a family law attorney at Gaffney, Lewis, and Edwards in Columbia, South Carolina for two years.
