This is the best and only place to consider eating dinner while in John Day. Don't bother doing anymore research, JUST GO! Great food, service, and atmosphere. You will be glad you did.



PS- make reservations if you want to "insure" getting in on the weekend. I DID get in without a reservation.

Our daughter and son in law told us of this restaurant when they came to John Day last year. Said we HAD to go there. We had the most delightful time. Our food was exceptional, the service impeccable, and the atmosphere superb. We sat out on the deck and listened to the calming sounds of a beautiful water feature. How fortunate the people of the John Day area are to have this restaurant. It would excell in any large city.

If you're looking for supurb food and equally good service, try the Snaffle Bit! WOW! Great steaks! But make a reservation first! It can get busy during peak times and if you don't have a reservation, you may have a long, long wait! Any time my husband and I pass through, we eat there...sometimes we make a special detour JUST to eat there. YUMMY! And great service every time we've gone!
