With our daughter attending GVSU, and driving an older vehicle, we found C.A.R.S. They made her feel very comfortable, having never had to take her car into be serviced.



A year later, her transmission went out. Again, we had it towed to C.A.R.S. As it turned out, the transmission in that particular vehicle is very rare. The initial solution would have had C.A.R.S. removing and installing a rebuilt transmission.



But finding the correct transmission proved illusive. While I looked around for a plan B, they allowed me to keep the vehicle there, at no charge. As it worked out, I had to find a place who would remove the existing transmission, rebuild it and re-install it. Unfortunately, C.A.R.S. couldn’t do that.



I ended up having to have it picked up and hauled to another location.



All the while C.A.R.S, specifically Scott was very professional and more than willing to try to figure out a solution.



I highly recommend them - especially for parents with GVSU students. It’s a bit out of the way, but their honest and professionalism is well worth the inconvenience.



(PS - the shop right off campus - red flags!)

We go to CARS Auto for oil changes and repairs. They are always courteous and very knowledgable. They are always willing to work around my schedule as well. Last time I needed work done I called to schedule and they were pretty booked, but they found a way to squeeze me in when I needed it. They also explain everything before doing any work and if parts are needed, they look for the least expensive parts in order to save me money.
