The Public School Retirement System of Missouri, also known as PSRS, is a cost-sharing, multiple employer retirement system that was established in 1946 by an act of the Missouri legislature. The system provides retirement, disability and death benefit services to full-time, certificated employees in public schools and four-year regional universities. It also provides an online benefit estimate calculator. The system has received the Certificate of Achievement for excellence in financial reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The Public School Retirement System of Missouri, along with the Public Education Employee Retirement System of Missouri (PEERS), serves more than 200,000 active and retired members. PSRS/PEERS is one of the largest retirement systems in the United States.
