Established in 1947, the United Nations International School, also known as UNIS, provides international education services for children. It serves students in kindergarten through grade 12. The school is chartered by the New York Board of Regents as an independent, not-for-profit school and is also accredited by the European Council of Independent Schools. The United Nations International School s academic curriculum includes language arts, humanities, science, math, technology education, art and physical education. It organizes several sports activities. The school is a member of the Girls Independent School Athletic League, Athletic Conference of Independent Schools and Private School Athletic Association. The United Nations International School also provides after-school care and summer programs.
