Thomas A. Edison Vocational & Technical High School has been operational for more than 25 years. Located in Jamaica, N.Y., the school enrolls more than 3,000 students in grades nine through 12. In addition to its core subjects, it provides various technology education programs, such as A+ computer repair course, Cisco certification, Microsoft Office specialist, computer-aided designing, computer and electronics engineering, automotive, programming and Internet technologies and courses in premedical pharmaceutical chemistry. The school offers several student support services, including telephone registration, academic and personal counseling, financial aid, international student services, disabled students programs and services, assessment, and career and transfer assistance. Additionally, it offers a variety of sports programs, including girl s and boy s basketball, cheerleading, baseball, tennis, badminton, swimming, soccer and softball.
