If you have heating/air conditioning concerns what are the requirements of the company you would hire? Of course you want them to have the proper licenses, insurance, certifications and accreditations. But when you get past these items there are several companies that fall in this category. What sets them a part from the others?
1. YOU WOULD ALSO WANT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE - We paid for maintenance on our system. Less than 3 months ago. I called to tell them that the system was sounding like it was going to shut down. It was really scary sounding like gears were straining and might break. I called and spoke to Mieta. She informed me that someone could come out, but it would cost me $86.00. I asked her why would I pay for service I had already paid for. She told me it was policy. I asked her where that policy was written on the contract and/or on the invoice. She danced around the question and reluctantly said it was not written. It just was policy. I was told that I would get a call. 3.5 hours later, I got a call from Chase. Finally, I got a call from Chase and he asked me what the problem was. So, he was not preparing to speak with me. He informed me that he would not come to check my system. Even though there was no policy written anywhere and we were not informed of the policy. He was upholding an unwritten policy.
He also informed me that it was perfectly OK that Cassidy hung up the phone in my face because I would not let her speak.
The customer service was horrible. Yes I was testy and I did not want to be apologized to. I was being a real pain and I know I was probably getting on their nerves. I just wanted someone who knew something about A/C to help me. I was scared because I did not know what was going on with my system. What if it had blown up. I did not know and I just wanted someone to assure me that it would not. I kept calling back and talking to a group of people who did not seem to care. However, I did not yell at or curse anyone so why would it be acceptable to be hung up on. I will take Chase’s advice and find another company to work with. However long they have been in business if they keep going at this rate, it won’t be long before they won’t be in business anymore.
2. YOU WOULD WANT THEM TO WARRANTY THE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES THEY PROVIDE. - Chase told me the industry standard is 30 days. I told him we would not have paid to have work done in August during summer if we could not be sure of the work when winter hit.
Since I am not in the air conditioning industry, I called other companies. I told them the work that was done and asked what the time limit would be for them to come back out if there was a problem. These are the companies and their time frame based on the work that was done in my home:
Florida Home Air Conditioning (1 year), J & W Heating and Air (90-days), Donovan Heat & Air (1 year), Orange Park AC Services (90-days), Comfort Zone of North Florida Inc. (1 year).
So, it is not the industry standard. I think it was Chasse’s way of getting out of guaranteeing their work and coming to see if they had made a mistake that they would have to pay for.
The one thing that I found as I called all these companies was each of them was concerned about integrity and making sure the customer was taken care of. If you are looking to hire a company, do yourself a favor and spare yourself some heartache don’t hire Waychoff's. DON’T HIRE WAYCHOFF'S!
