This place is or was more crooked and the Worst kind of establishment in Jacksonville. I believe it was 2.5-3yrs ago when they were shut down and under criminal investigation for "Price Fixing/Gouging ". I don't know what happened with that exactly but I believe they were banned from dispensing certain kinds of pain medications. I can tell you, that probobly the reason they have that nice new building on Beach Blvd. is due directly to all the millions of dollars they made by taking as much of an advantage of their customers as was possible. This is just ONE medication that I know they did this with. EXAMPLE: Oxycodone 30mg tablets. I think they originally were charging $4-$5ea (Extremely High Price). Then a few months later $6-$7ea. Then a yr later $9-$10ea. A year later $12-$13ea... During all of this time it was getting harder and harder for people in severe pain to find pharmacies to fill their prescriptions because the government started putting a limit on how many of these pills could be sold per month, per pharmacy. Ssoooo, the owners/people in charge of pricing their drugs at Smart Pharmacy (SP) Greedily took advantage of ANYONE that came there looking for help in filling their scrip. They raised their prices more and more and more... Now if you look at other pharmacies there were a few others that did this as well... & ALL of them were/Are what many would call LEGAL DRUG DEALERS... With SP being the #1, hands down WORST. From the position of power that they had they looked Worse than the GREEDIEST STREET DEALER... Compare them to Any of these other pharmacies: Target 5yrs ago .75 ea pill --- Now .75 ea pill, Winn Dixie 5yrs ago .85-.90ea pill --- Now $1.05ea pill, Walgreens, CVS, Publix ALL are right about where they were as well as far as pricing over the same period of time goes... I'm guessing that these pills Maaaayyy cost .25ea... Maybe less, maybe AL little more. So while all of these other Respectable establishments were doing the RIGHT THING, & actually caring about their patients welfare and NOT taking as much advantage of them as possible SP did the exact Opposite and tried to Squeeze as much money as they could get from people. They may try to say "It's because we were limited to the amount of the medication we could get monthly and since we aren't a big pharmacy chain we don't get deals as good as Wal Mart" or whoever. That's a lie. All of them were limited to how much they could get per month. This is a DIRTY LITTLE SECRET that they surely don't want anyone to know about. I only gave them 1 star because I can't Highlight a Zero on here... Any feedback on my post is welcome. I was appalled as all of this was going on. I had a couple of friends & a family member that I saw try to fill their prescriptions a few times over a 3-4 yr period and they simply couldn't afford to pay $1,200-$1,400 a month for their pain medication... WHO COULD afford that? And if no other meds work for you and you can't fill for $88 at Target because they're full with patients and you go to SMART PHARMACY & they look at you with a straight face and say "Sure, that'll be $1,000" or More, ... well, it's very frustrating to say the least. Thank You, Jimmy

A Wonderful Pharmacy

Like the old fashion pharmacies of the past where the people working there know you and your family and at the same time are state of the art. This is also one of the only pharmacies that still mix up special perscriptions instead of having to send out for them. Draw backs from the chain pharmacies is that they close at 5 to 6 pm and they are only open half day on Saturday and closed on Sunday. This pharmacy is worth any problems the times open!
