I believe those unassailable rights are bestowed by God. It is, therefore, each person’s conscience, their ability to worship and pursue the teachings of their creator, that will sustain and strengthen the ability of our citizens to remain free. When government can deny our freedom to pray, we will be left with the dictates of the most powerful, and freedom will be no more. ADF, Alliance Defending Freedom, consists of attorneys trained and dedicated to defending our First Amendment freedoms, to worship without hindrance from our government. This means the ability to behave according to the reasonable dictates of one’s conscience. When government demands that we act beyond our moral bounds, I, and other ADF attorneys, will offer legal assistance, free if necessary. This stance will often counter organizations (and has successfully) such as the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, and other secular, anti-faith organizations when they support government intrusions into a person’s practice of religion. Areas of law impacted would include employment, zoning, healthcare and wellness, and education.
