7/26/2015 - 1st time visitor to the St. Mary's Seafood restaurant on Old St. Augustine Rd., Jax, Fl and looking forward to trying the food. I ordered half a dozen oysters on the half shell and clam chowder soup. I requested oysters to be lightly steamed. Instead, it came back one of the oysters was almost completely flattened and nearly dissolved close to its shell. The rest of the oysters were tiny, dry, and overcooked. - Definitely, not plump and juicy. They had a weird taste almost, as if like soap or detergent? The clam chowder was like a regular white sauce béchamelle that was somewhat bland with very little clam or having any taste of. : ( Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my order and not really impressed. The waitor who took our order was mice and courteous, though.

Restaurant was clean and the employees happy. That says a lot right there. The food was excellent and plenty of it. No nonsense. I wish I lived closer I would come more often, add it is I'll make a special day trip to enjoy the town and stop again for dinner.
