I've been meeting with my friends pretty much every Sunday for breakfast at The Pig for the past 2 plus years. There are many restaurants we COULD meet at that are closer but we choose to go there because of the staff. The food, of course, is very good, but the waitstaff is what makes this place head and shoulders above other places. They truly know their customers and take great care of them! I've tried numerous other places, but they all pale in comparison to The Pig!!!

Best BBQ sandwiches around and wife liked variety of menu items.

We were disappointed when we went to the newly opened location in Bayard.

Iced tea: tasted like weak concentrated

Pulled pork: no smoke flavor, was mushy and wet like it was in a steam tray

Sauce: only one available-- a thin, vinegar based runny sauce

Service: questionable. Our server was not attentive and customers who came in long after us received their orders before us. We were questioning if our orders were put into the system when we placed them or if we had been forgotten by our server. No apology from server when she finally brought our food out. Not sure why ½ hour delay for simple meals.

Check: Ordered the 4 veggie plate ($4.99) from the lunch menu after verifying with the server that we could. When the bill came each one of the veggie sides had been rung up separately and the additional cost was almost $3 over what the menu stated. Asked the server about it and she took no action until we asked for an email address (which we never got) to send a comment to the owner. Instead she sent the manager to our table. The manager explained that the menus were printed incorrectly and that the lunch specials are only M-F and they cost more on the weekends and had to be rung up separately. He then stated that this time only he would allow us to pay the price in the menu. In the menu it states Lunch Specials 11:00-2:00 and no where does it indicate those are only M-F prices. This error is present in the restaurant menu and also in the take out menu.

But on a positive note:

Sides: coleslaw, lima beans, and baked beans were very tasty

Our experience may have been less than satisfactory but we may give them another chance once they had an opportunity to work out their opening issues.
