Terrible experience here. Staff didn't seem to care about me, and would ignore me at the counter. I was harassed while I was there by another patient and they did nothing to fix it or remove the person from me.

Transporting patients that don't need emergency services is FRAUD. This place has fraud written all over it!! Tax payers beware! Most of the patients here are homeless so they lie to get in & of course they have some type of medical issue that should eventually be addressed by doesn't require an ambulance. Saying out of control patients have high blood pressure or AMS.....yea so private ambulance picks them up, mind you they are not cops, no protection for ems. Stop pushing the patients you can't deal with off onto UF health Er!! MHRC can sedate so why aren't they?!?!? Nothing but fraud & overuse of tax payers money!

This place is awful. I have personally observed staff abusing patients and have reported this on several occasions. They also gave doctors that commit fraud on a regular basis and this is well known all the way up to the president if the company. All the nurses talk about this doctor and how he will put down that he saw so and so but did not see that person. Doctors are also required to see patients that have private insurance, but some do not, although they put down that they did see these patients. I have never in my life seen supposedly professionals treat patients so bad in all my life. A dog shelter treats their dogs better than this place, both north and south, treat their patients. The abuse is out of control. The patients call the abuse hotline but no one believes them. The police officers that come out there have commented on how bad these places are. These places are funded with tax payers money and we are being cheated. Shut them down.

0 stars if possible. Dr Risa wouldn't allow me to bring my son. Missed appt which is rude to me! My mental health is FOR my baby duh. Well found a MUCH MORE PROFESSIONAL OFFICE KID FRIENDLY

I was reading some of these reviews and i seen one from a employee. I understand your staff deal with a lot of different personalities on a daily basis and they try their best to be cautious, however many people come the for bipolar depression. When you are rude and give attitudes to them it could cause their health to decline more. They may leave and harm them selves or others. These staff members just need to be a little more patient. Their attitudes could make matters much worse. Some of these people check in for a reason.

I had a horrible experience at this facility. The staff is the worst.

I work in the inpatient setting and I have read some of the comments written here and would like to respond. What people don't realize about our facility is that we are "crisis stabilization" and not long term. We're here for people who are threatening self-harm or are psychotic and need immediate intervention. We don't do deep therapy, we get people back on their meds or prescribe meds if needed. The general length of stay is 3-5 days. From here people are referred to outpatient for follow up care. Our facility is currently being renovated as the buildings were old and outdated. A much better improvement however, but with block concrete not much insulation. That should've been improved upon but they chose not to and lack of funds probably is my guess. The meals are actually not that bad and I eat meals there sometimes myself. As far as staff is concerned we do have some nurses who I believe are very calloused and rude, but there are those of us that do care about the people there. We get a lot of homeless people that use our facility for a place to stay so they basically lie to get in. Some of them are very rude and we also get paranoid schizophrenics who sometimes are out of control and are violent. So we deal with a wide range of people. It's very scary to have the police bring in a 6 ft 5 man hog tied because he was so out of control with them but they don't need jail because they are mentally sick, but they leave them with us and we are then forced to deal with them. I've had co-workers hurt and some not able to return to work due to them getting harmed. So we serve a population that people don't realize need a place like ours to come to, otherwise they'd be on the streets possibly doing harm to themselves or others. So I just wanted to put it out there so people can get an understanding of what we do. If you or someone you know has had a bad experience I'm sorry, since there were only 4 replies and all negative I have to wonder how many out there have had a positive experience with us but have not commented. I know they're out there because I deal with them every day. Thanks for reading.

Is this place for real ? Why hasn't it been shut down already.

I was here for 7 days and I hate this place. It does not deserve any stars. The staff is rude and the therapist don't help. The food is served cold and the meat is mystery meat. It's disgusting, all you do is sit around and do art all day. Some people may like that, but I was hoping for something more beneficial. Do not send your kids here, it will do them no good. They will come home even more mad then they already were before. I am not happy with this place at all. It needs to be deep cleaned and have all new staff that is on top of there game.

This place doesn't even deserve a star, it deserves a minus a million stars!! Their staff have absolutely NO RESPECT for their patients or the patients families. They cancel appointments and won't even bother to call you, so you find out when you arrive ON TIME only to be turned down. They have a nasty attitude and think they can do whatever they want whenever they want they also think they can talk to you however they want. Well guess what? I DON'T THINK SO!! I already called the board of directors and won't rest until someone does something about this!! They cancelled my brother's appointment after they have called the day before CONFIRMING it. He is a paranoid schizophrenic and needs medication on a daily basis. They re-scheduled him almost a month later (because his doctor was away on vacation) so he ran out of his medication. When I called a week before his appointment asking for them to call in his prescription I was told and I quote: "Ma'am YOU DONT MAKE DEMANDS HERE. I WILL TRY TO GET ANOTHER DOCTOR TO WRITE HIM A PRESCRIPTION WHICH YOU WILL HAVE TO COME PICK UP BECAUSE WE DON'T CALL IN PRESCRIPTIONS HERE. IF I CAN GET HIM A PRESCRIPTION I WILL CALL YOU." What a wonderful and caring attitude they display. I hung up and called the director in regards to this matter and I won't stop until someone steps in and do something about this. You messed with the wrong person!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION. THEY SUCK BIG TIME!!!

I stayed their for sometime and I didn't like the place at all. When I was their they had a problem with a person and it took 6 or more people to restrain him. Right now they have my girlfriend their and she has to take insulin shots for diabetes problem. If they don't let take her shots she would be back at shands hospital or maybew on her death bed. That place needs to be investigated a s a p. They have some serious problems their too. Today is thursday 5/03/2012 & I haven't heard anythingf from her at all.
