I have known the people at Maddenaire since 1964. With rare exceptions, their techs are knowledgeable, courteous, friendly, polite, and efficient. I had a visit today from three men who re-installed my whole-house defumidifier. They respected my concern for closed doors because of my freaky cats and were very good-natured about it. At this point the problem is solved in the usual efficient and courteous manner.

Do NOT use this company. I needed a capacitor, tech He was annoyed that I wanted to know what he was doing. Also, he never quoted me a price first, just fixed it. I was told there was a 3 year warranty. Broke in 1 year. Paid an emergency fee, advised the tech (same annoyed guy) I had a warranty. He looks angry, says only the part is covered for $20. They use sub-par parts. Final straw, breaks again. Coil leak. He can't show me where, and again didn't quote me a price. I ask him not to fix anything without me, while defrosting, but 30 minutes later he needs a credit card saying I need a new coil and he filled with freon, but it may not last. Another $240. He did not add a leak seal or offer to fix leak; the only option was to replace for $1100 or buy a new unit. I looked up the price of a replacement coil right there, less than $300. This place is either a scammer or they try to take advantage of women. Buyer beware! I am filling a complaint. AC broke again in 1 day.
