I was called into the HR office of my employer and told I was going to be garnished by over 89% from the IRS due to unpaid taxes. Then i was told I had two weeks to sort this out or they were going to terminate my employment because I have a security clearance. I was dead in the water after hearing that. I was in a panic and knew this day would come. I didn't have $54,000 to pay the IRS but was afraid to cal because of the very reason I was called into the office. I want to share my experience with Key Tax Group. I am retired and cashed out a 401K to payoff my home and other bills and didnt realize what this was going to cause me down the road tax wise. I ended up owing over $46,000. When my tax prepare showed me what I was going to owe I was in a panic! I didn't know where to turn or what to do as I had never had a tax debt in my life. Was I going to lose my home I just paid off the previous year? Were they going to garnish my pension and SSI from me and my wife? Were they going to clean out my savings? Was I going to jail? All I have to say is this company is amazing. I had a huge sales tax issue and was being audited for 4 years. The state was coming after me for over $635,000 and I was lost with no idea what to do. I was highly recommended by another firm as I quickly discovered that very few firms specialize in this type of tax issue. Amazing group of people! Kelly Gibson is the best! I am from Norway and have been working in the US for 5 years and my accountant really did a number on me by not filing my FBARS on time. Thank you Key Tax Group! I own a small BBQ restaurant in Bridgeview Il and found myself owing over $48,000 for unpaid sales tax. what can I say? I filed and owed $26,000 to the IRS from a 401K disbursement and was shocked with the amount I owed. I was scared and knew I didn't have $26K to pay.
