Ive been shopping at Jolly Reefs Shack for a few years now and have gone from a 30 gallon aquarium to a 125 gallon monster of a tank and they have given me many deals and savings on equipment and material for my aquarium over the years saving me money, I always go back so I can have conversations and enjoy the company of the owner and workers. Their fish are always cared for and in a healthy state, if not they are not sold till they have fully recovered. They have been doing a lot of construction and renovation to the store and are improving all they can trying to provide a better environment to view everything and shop.

I bought a fire mouth cichlid from this store put him in my 75 gallon tank with my well fed beautiful healthy non aggressive Oscars and came home from work the following day to find him dead. he hadn't bin bullied or nipped on at all. when I called them to ask them about their policy on dying fish the owner said they didn't have one. so I am out 30 bucks witch doesn't really mater what maters is that I never got to enjoy the beauty of my fire mouth cichlid.

I am very sorry to hear about your Fire Mouth dying. We do not keep sick or ailing fish in the store and disease does not usually manifest its self overnight. We do have a return policy for our fish. It's a 24 hour policy and to be fair we do not have the ability to offer a 90 day return policy on dead fish like the big package stores but what you will find is a very knowledgable employee that will ask you 20 questions before selling you a fish. If you put that firemout in an established Oscar tank then my first response to that would be, It was probably bulloied to the point of death reguardless of visible signs of attack.

This store is my favorite fres...

This store is my favorite fresh water store in town. Ive been going there about 2 yrs. The owner is very helpfull and it is always a friendly place to visit. I tell all my friends to go there and still do. The owner told me what happened with the 2 yr old boy and I believe it was a missunderstanding. Ive seen handicapped people there several times and they looked like they enjoyed themselves. This will always be my fresh water store. Who knows maybe I will start a saltwater tank one day. If I do I will let them help me with that too.

As a mother of a child with Sp...

As a mother of a child with Spina Bifida - I was outraged to learn that Jolly's Reef Shack's owner ordered a small child to leave for using a necessary medical walking aid. Absolutely disgusting that ANYONE should be treated this way!! Any business owner who is this ignorant of disability and discrimination laws does not deserve my business.

I have known Faye and John for years and discriminatory does not even enter into her vocabulary. I am responding to this review because I have been asked time and again about what happened and I tell them to ask the owner because I do not know, I was not present to whitness the occorance. I still have customers that frequent Jolly's that did witness it though and the things they recount match very closely to the things I hear Faye when she responds to the questions. I am not calling you a liar but I would like to address this situation resolve it. For what it is worth I apologize for the reaction you were given and would like to let you know that our store has been made more handicap accessible since there has been new management involved. The isles are wider and there are less glass tanks on the ground level to get in the way. Again please accept my sincerest apology and have a blessed day.

DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY B...

DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY BUSINESS!!! They discriminated against a 2 year old boy with Spina Bifida by not allowing him in the store with his parents because he was using a medically necessary walker to get around.

Many people complained on their facebook page so they deleted all of the comments and then took the page down. Please join me in this effort of letting everyone know how bad of a business they run by doing such a thing!!

AWFUL

While waiting for my wife, I stopped by to browse inside the store. A woman came up to me who I believe was the store owner with a very sour attitude informing me that I was welcome to look in her store for 15min and then I would need to make a purchase. I was so shocked with her abrupt attitude that I turned around and walked out. I will never darken her store's doorstep again and plan to warn everyone I know NOT to patron her store and to shop elsewhere

I am not an eye witness to this event but I will say that if you were just looking and it was close to closing then you were just given a closing reminder. Also in September of 2009 the owners husband was being treated for cancer and the owner Faye was more than likley on her way to see him and wanted to close promptly at 7. I am not sure if you have ever worked retail but closing time doesn't come soon enough and the last thing you want is to wait untill after closing to let someone out that has no intention or making a purchase.

This is an amazing place to go

I went in to look at the marine fish and aquarium and I left with a ton of knowledge and was able to have the confidence to start my aquarium Thanks to Faye (the owner/employee), she took the time to tell my boyfriend and I how to start our marine aquarium and worked w/ us as far as a budget we didn't want to spend a arm and a leg so she gave us different options and told us step by step instructions and she was super friendly and even set up some of the equipment for us. Plus you can't beat the fact that they have marine fish, coral, live rock, live sand and all the other chemicals and equipment you need to get your very own peice of the Ocean w/o living by one lol I will definitely be going back for everything I need I must stay I was more than satisfied by the service and knowledge and concern she gave to us. I'm going back next week so I hope you go there so please check it out trust me you will now be disappointed.
