The Florida Highway Patrol is a nationally accredited law enforcement agency that provides services for traffic and public safety on highways. It also provides vehicle registration and driver s license renewal. In addition, the Florida Highway Patrol provides online traffic crash and road condition reports. The agency maintains more than 45 station locations throughout Florida, including one in Jacksonville. It maintains the Office of Public Affairs, which provides information to the public, responds to inquiries from statewide news media and conducts traffic safety programs for schools, churches, civic groups, military personnel and other interested parties. The Florida Highway Patrol is operated by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
