This place is a gift from God. I have been under their care for more than 5 years and the Dr's and entire staff are excellent. I am sorry that some people have had a bad experience but this is not the norm. This is a TRUE pain clinic and not a pill mill. They require monthly urinalysis and count your meds when you come in for your monthly visit/refills. For someone who is truly in pain and does not mind their two rules, this is the place for you. Their only two rules are to have a clean drug test ( except for meds you are currently prescribed ) and follow the directions on the pill bottles. This means don't do other drugs, don't take more than prescribed, and don't give or sell your meds to anyone else. If you can follow those easy rules then you have a great doctor for life. They are not rude or insist on perfection. If you are a few pills short one month or have alcohol in your system one month they are not just going to discharge you. They R there to help you and will work with you. Any Dr. who is prescribing narcotics nowadays has to be careful but if you are able to follow these two rules then you are fine. This is not a place for junkies or addicts to come get pain meds from so don't bother trying. They have seen/heard all the excuses of why there was drugs or alcohol in your system and/or why you should have a few dozen pills left but you have none. They are not stupid. The good thing is that if you ARE an addict and want help they are also licensed to treat addiction medicine ( suboxone, Subutex, etc ) and they can help you get your life back. I have a chronic, degenerative, extremely painful, rare, disease and used to hurt 24/7. Other doctors saw my age ( 25 ) and laughed me out the door thinking I was a junkie. Nexstep has treated me with compassion and care and without them I would probably be dead. They understand when I need to switch meds or increase dosage as my tolerance builds. TRUE pain patients who need a good doctor should give them a try. They saved my life and might save yours. Good luck to all who have pain and I wish you the best of luck.

Malicious and deceitful
Trickery, is this the way to treat truly sick and injures people. I am so sad and frightened by being set up. And I say this before God

This place felt like a pill mill. For people who do NOT wish to take any type of narcotic medication for pain, but would rather receive an anti-inflammatory steroidal type injection (shoulder) they still "insist" you take a "routine" but very detailed drug test. They never bother to tell you, you will be billed OVER $800, AFTER your co-pay. I went ONCE in April 2015 and just this week (August of 2016) I received a huge bill from one of their carriers Millennium out of San Diego for $866.00. I would not recommend this place at all. I have made so many phone calls and NO ONE seems to know any reason why. They did not even have my correct insurance carrier listed. TERRIBLE!

If I can leave "0" star I would. I was referred to this place for one symptom. This doctor made me feel worse and wanted handle my mental state instead of what I was referred for which I have a doctor for that. He made me cry and his attitude was arrogant toward me, I have PSTD and he wanted to delve into it. I wanted to run out of this place I was so upset and depressed I had a hard time driving home, My suggestion, if you don't want to feel even worse than when you arrive do not go see this group of physicians. The worse experience I have ever had!

Horrible horrible if you want to be belittled for every life decision you make such as smoking or be called an alcoholic because you have a glass of wine more than once a week, and wait over 4.5 hours for the doctor to give you medications that your primary can give you then go here. If you don't want any of that then go elsewhere
