I live on the jax / St. Augustine border and have had a terrible time getting cabs to come this far from an airport. Checker cab sent Goran who was a true professional and did not gripe because he had to go so far from the "money making" area. Thank you Checker Cab. You have helped someone who desperately needed a ride. Miss Karen

I was at cruise port in Jacksonville, lost my traveling companion and waited for a shuttle from Travel Lodge. After a long wait and many Checker Cabs come and go, mine didn't arrive. A driver from Checker Cab was dropping people off and taking people to their destination and went out of his way to console me about losing my friend and offered to take me to airport. On the way to airport I got a call from my friend he was at the cruise ship. My driver had to return to the ship with other people so he picked up my friend and got us to the airport. We gave him our vouchers so do hope he was paid. No amount can compensate this wonderful person. I so wish I had got his name. He drove a mini van, was bald, tanned and a big smile. He shook hands with my friend and myself. Unfortunately, I think I lost my cell phone in his vehicle. If you discover who this driver is, please give him my e-mail. I hope he will be compensated as one of your valued drivers,

I wish to add that my cab driver found my cell phone and returned it to Travelodge where I stayed. They were more than helpful sending it back to me. So James Kerrigan and Travelodge, you went beyond your call of duty. Thank you so much.

Quick service, very pleasant & friendly driver, I will definitely utilize their service again should the need arise. I unfortunately suffered through a horrible experience with another company afterwards, I should have waited for them to answer the phone!

As a former driver for over a year, I just want to say I think its funny as hell that you guys have about 30 wrecked vehicles on the yard.. Wanna know why? You treat your good drivers like crap, and when they get fed up and move on, you guys will put ANYBODY behind the wheel, to keep that money coming in..



Your company when to crapper, when Grady left and you sold out to the french. You promised your drivers nothing would change, and things would only get better, likely story, but totally FALSE! The only persons its getting better for is you guys in the office, and the drivers are paying the cost, with increased fees, lower rates on tms fares, than ANY other company, and constant negativity being barked at you all day through the computer system. Hey man its hard enough to stay positive, out here with out you guys blasting, some " I'm gonna suspend you", independent contractor, if you don't do this, this, and this, my way, FOR 3 WEEKS! you guys blasted the same played out message, like anyone cares. YOU are just making yourselves look bad to all the customers forced to see it..



You put your drivers out there, pay them half price on rides you generate, so they have to work 15 hours to make any money, give them NO benefits, take away their bond, and just pocket their 3 dollars, and expect them to pay more if they wreck your vehicle...hahaha YOU GUYS ARE A JOKE!! There are other company's like the one I am with now, who will be glad to take the good drivers off your hands. Its not like you reward them for NOT WRECKING the vehicles, NOT like they ever hear any POSITIVE feedback from you...ONLY NEGATIVITY!



Its just a matter of time, and all your drivers will leave, the customers will complain that all the good ones are gone, or you will let the rest of the warm bodies you put behind the wheel wreck them for you...YOU ARE GOING DOWN CHECKER CAB, AND THE SAD THING IS,,.,.YOU COULD OF BEEN GREAT!

This company sucks, for them to get business that they do not deserve blows my mind,they are rude an do not deserve that amount of money they are making..They are over charging and rude they need to fix there company or just live with the fact they suck!!They do not deserve any stars!!

COMPANY SUCKS, EVERYTIME I CALLED THEM (TWICE) AN HOUR EARLY, THEY STILL HAD ME LATE FOR WORK! NOT A GOOD COMPANY IF U HAVE SUM WHERE IMPORTANT TO BE!

THIS COMPANY SUCKS! THE 1ST TIME I HAD A CABBIE SHOW UP 30 MINS LATE, AND HAD ME LATE TO WORK! I CALL IN TODAY FOR A CAB ON 2/3/12 AT 7AM, DISPATCHER SAYS 10-15 MINS SO ITS NOW 8;15 AND IM LATE TO WORK A SECOND TIME. THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST....GET UR CHIT TOGETHER FOLKS HAVE JOBS TO BE AT ON TIME!

Today at 12:06p.m. my wife called for a cab to take her to work as her normal ride could not make to pick her up. When she got through to the dispatcher, she was hung-up on. She redialed and the dispatcher was extremely abrupt and rude without provocation or cause. No nice greeting...no "Thank You" nada...nothing but rudeness. When my wife gave her the information, the dispatcher did not acknowledge the request and hung up. My wife was left wondering if she was going to get a cab or not. So...she called back 3 minutes later to verify if a cab would be coming...but not trying to rush them...but solely to confirm if the order was in fact acknowledged. Again...rudeness. Next...a cabbie called my wife for directions to our complex. His GPS couldn't locate the apartment complex...so my wife explains to him where it is...but by this time she had to walk to the main gate to try and meet him there. The cabbie got frustrated (not sure why...this place has been here forever...) cause it's like they have never been to this complex before...which is not true!! The sign at the front of the gate has changed twice in the last week or so (not sure if the complex is being bought out or whatever...) so my wife calls him to let him know the actual name posted at the gate. The address hasn't changed so he should know where the heck it is...and if he doesn;t then he should have called dispatch or my wife for help if his GPS was not locating it. Anyway, she goes to the main gate to try and meet him and he;s a no show so far. My wife called him 4 times on his cell to get an update on his arrival time...and no answer!! By now, she is late for work!!! Finally...no response at all from the him and she calls the rude dispatcher again who just thinks that she should cancel the order. What kind of low life's are running this place!? How the hell can you treat people with such disrespect and rudeness!!? This is not big city madness where being cold, rude and disrespectful is warranted! You need to go back to basics..customer service 101!! You should be ashamed to call yourself a service company!!

I travel all over the U.S. mostly on business but some personal travel. This is the best cab company that I have encountered. Period! Clean cabs. On time. Polite drivers. Knowledgeable about Jacksonville. What more could I want? Thanks to Sam, Ed, Sandra and the other drivers with names that I have forgotten. Keep doing it right and THANK YOU again.

Long story short this is an Excellent cab company..had trouble getting to work one night and had several other companies drop the ball!! Checker Cab came through for me, got someone out to my house, nice clean cab and a great driver!! I work for a hotel and will be recommending this company to all my guests. I highly recommend them to everyone.

We are so thankful for these people they wemt out of their way and beyond to help my brother-in-law get home to his family when he was stranded 12 miles outside of Jacksonville! Thank you so much!

I've been using Gator City and others in Jax for a couple of years now on a pretty regular basis. Funny thing was that for all the trips to and from the same locations, the price was always different! They had a few good drivers but most of the time I felt like I was in-between drug deals, worried about them driving around with their small kids in the cab and most of the cars were disgusting! I read about Checker Cab starting up and have been using them ever since. The cabs are clean and not falling apart, the price is fair and always the same to and from the same locations, every driver has been very nice and the pick up is quick. Soooo refreshing! Thank you for starting up a reputable business!! Jacksonville needed it desperately!

I was so impressed with this company. Nice new clean cars, well dressed courteous driver, reasonable wait time, and the cost was less than I thought it would be. Keep up the good work!!!

I think it this company is great for what I found out it represents, they have clean cars, fast pick up our drop off, they are all friendly drivers, Its about time we have a great cab company in Jacksonville, as a jacksonville native it always important to find courteous people that treat you (as the customer) the way you should be treated.. They are also very affordable!!! Thanks again Checker! I will be keeping an eye out for the yellow cab!! - MJ

This company is by far the best taxi service I've ever used. Clean cars, clean drivers, fast service. I wish every taxi company operated like this one.
