CSX Transportation is the principal operating company for CSX Corporation, which CSX Corporation owns one of the United States leading transportation companies that provides rail, intermodal and rail-to-truck trans-load services that connect 70 ocean, river and lake ports, in addition to 230 short line and regional railroads. CSX Transportation operates the largest railroad in the eastern United States. Ward has been the chief executive officer of CSX for more than three years. He has been with the transportation company for over 29 years. Ward earned a BBA from the University of Maryland, and a MBA from Harvard. CSXT headquarters are located in Jacksonville, Fla., and employs nearly 34,000 people.
