While at a gun show in Florida my wife and son purchased an SKS rifle from B&K. My wife and son are not firearms experts and believed the B&K representative when he stated that the rifle had never been fired and had no import marks. The latter increases the rifle's value by 50%. We processed the transaction in November through a local FFL dealer and since the weapon was a Christmas present it was locked away unused. In late January we had the opportunity to fire the weapon for the first time to find that it had significant gas system problems and would not cycle. The cost of repair was in excess of $200. Admittedly, some time had passed when I got it back from the gunsmith and I was simply going to absorb that cost, but with all the attention given to the weapon we found import marks on the barrel under the bayonet from the importer C.A.I. This prompted me to write to B&K in March asking for an adjustment in the price to account for the 50% premium we paid for the absence of import marks. The response from B&K was a letter filled with insults, sarcasm and threats of legal action. There was no mention in the response of the import marks and I was accused of having "Buyer's Remorse". Be warned.
