Just consider the landscape — from the historic St. John's River to its vast coastline, gorgeous beaches, and nearby art scene in St. Augustine — it makes perfect sense to have a cosmetology school in Jacksonville that encourages all natural beauty. With a campus located next to Whole Foods in the up and coming enclave of Mandarin Landing, the AVEDA Institute Jacksonville represents a stunning example of what a beauty school should look and feel like.

Yesterday my daughter had her hair cut by Nicholas and she left with tears of joy. His words of encouragement and ability to emotionally/physically change the way my daughter views herself is incredible. Thank you for boosting my daughters confidence and giving her an amazing hair cut!

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience for my daughter. She has been there before with no issues, but this time, WOW! She went to get a partial and hair cut. An hour after she was supposed to be done with getting her hair cut and highlights, she still hadn't gotten her highlights completed. Resulting in no hair cut..etc. On top of EVERYTHING else, she was charged 54.00 for a 36.00 job (as posted). THEN, i guess the stylist figured they needed a tip...so they added $20 for themselves. Yes, she even drew a line through the tip line. Tips are given not taken! Horrible. I left a voicemail, after doing the please hold while I transfer you message (3 times). Beware, pricing is not less than anywhere else, while quality is substandard. You're letting students with no supervision do the work and this is painfully obvious!!!

It is difficult to give a star...

It is difficult to give a star rating. I have been to the Aveda Institute 3 times. The first time was phenomenal. It was the stylist's (Stephanie) 1st cut and color. She did such a great job, when I called to schedule an appointment I asked for her. Unfortunately, she had taken a leave of absence. It' was down hill from there. I met a woman at Barnes and Noble those hair I admired, she told me she went to Aveda and give me the stylist's name. I definitely liked the stylist but she was somewhat unprofessional since she spent the entire time talking about a previous client who was not happy with the service instead of concentrating on the client in her chair and making that client happy. The last (and final experience) was spur of the moment. IA class I was to attend got cancelled, I walked by Aveda, asked if I could a hair cut and color. Given my second experience I requested a "Master" student. (Don't worry he's not there anymore, having graduated in October.) He didn't know how the start the cut., had to ask the instructor repeatedly to help him, AND he ALSO spend his time while standing around waiting for the instructor, complaining about previous clients. I cancelled the hair color on the basis being that after however long he has been attending school he didn't know how to start a hair cut , I wasn't letting him near me with chemicals. Even with the instructor helping him, I have been waiting 5 months for the haircut to grow out enough that I can get decent cut. I am done with Aveda.

I made an appointment for a pedicure the other day. After waiting for 20 minutes, I asked the young lady at the counter--"How much longer?" She giggled and said there was a bridal party in the back, but did not tell me any other information--at which time I walked out. Also, the very loud rock music, the general air of chaos, the milling about of many customers and staff did not instill peace, confidence or organization. I will never go back.

My experience was very pleasant, I will definitely make another appointment. The student really paid attention and listened when I explained what type of hair cut I wanted.
