About River GardenOur community was founded in 1946 by a group of determined and far-sighted Jewish women who recognized a need to establish a home for the aged serving people with Jewish needs as well as others with special care needs from the greater Jacksonville community.Today River Garden is a comprehensive system of elder care services offering inpatient and outpatient residential, medical, and therapy services to older adults. River Garden predates the Medicare and Medicaid programs and the "business" of elder care and has continued to uphold standards that far exceed the requirements of publicly funded programs.River Garden continues to evolve, planning for the future using the past as a guiding light, to provide resources needed to meet the changing needs of present and future generations.
