I took my Ultrex to John Ho for service on 6-5-18 and was invoiced for a new Control Board, Foot Pedal Sensor and Armature. The issue is that he only replaced the Armature (which should have been warranteed) and not the other two parts. Immediately afterwards I remembered that my old foot pedal sensor switch had a mark on it so when I checked the supposed new one it had the same mark. When I confronted John on phone he admitted to not replacing the control board (not the foot pedal sensor falsely claimed it had been replaced) because I did not buy it the Ultrex directly from him (sorry but you are a Authorized Minn Kota Service center and you are required to fix it...don't take it out on me because I bought it cheaper somewhere else). So because he could not match the $500 discount he was angry and felt entitled to take my $300 as payback. But what really set me off is the foot pedal sensor gave out a month later and I left him 2 voicemails and a text message indicating what the problem was and needed service in order to fish a tournament on the weekend. He never called back and removed me from Facebook. So basically he was ducking me because he had lied about the repair and made up this phony invoice. Eventually I got a hold of the part and got the work done myself. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.
