I've taken my dog to Dr. Schrauben her entire life and had nothing but good experiences there. My dog can be very high strung and paranoid around people outside of our family but Dr. Schrauben handles her wonderfully. The few times we've had more serious illnesses come up he diagnosed her quickly and worked closely with us to make sure we cared for her properly. They even schedule visits if you need it, for your pet to be more comfortable instead of sitting in a waiting room with strangers and other animals around. AND you can go in with your pet while they are checked, unlike so many other vets out there. Sometimes he will even suggest simple home care remedies that take care of her symptoms while keeping her quality of life unimpaired. We love Dr. Schrauben and his whole staff. Highly recommended!

I was recently referred to Dr. Schrauben upon moving to Jackson. My dog is old and going through some changes. Dr. Schrauben has been easy to talk to, very helpful, and very compassionate. I would recommend Arbor Hills Veterinary Clinic. They are resonably priced also.

We were clients of this practice for the entire 27 years we lived in Jackson. We had 4 cats and 2 dogs during that time. We always found Dr. Schrauben to be very caring, compassionate and professional. When treatment was necessary, he offered reasonable alternatives and was always available when we needed him. This is a small practice where you get personal attention quickly. I would recommend this practice to anyone.

Our cat was misdiagnosed. I can now state emphatically that our dog was also misdiagnosed by: Arbor Hills Veterinary Clinic in Jackson, MI.



Our cat was obviously suffering from renal failure. Dr. Schrauben stated it was only a renal dysfunction. A little over 20 days later, our cat dropped dead from the CLASSIC symptoms of Chronic to Acute Renal Failure.



At the same time, our dog was suffering from a strange disease. The dog had been suffering from this disease, on and off, since fall. We thought it to be food allergies since he had good days and bad, depending on what he ate. The dog became worse this spring so we took him to see Dr. Schrauben



Dr. Schrauben should be ashamed for attempting to diagnose our dog WITHOUT so much as lifting a finger to listen to his heart or take his temp. He diagnosed our dog as having an "auto-immune disease" based on his "31 years of experience" and looking at the joints of the two front legs. This is unacceptable.



We took the dog to Dr. Amy Bearman, at Five Points Vet Clinic in Albion, for a second opinion.



Our dog was not quite five years old. Dr. Bearman was able to diagnose a very rare disease in the dog that produced cancerous tumors in the lungs and other odd symptoms. Her experience with other farm animals helped her with this diagnosis since she has seen it only twice in her practice with dogs....and in med school with a horse. Her explanations and diagnosis were undeniable.



She took extra time to show us TWO reference books WITH PHOTOS and compared them to the lung and limb x-rays she took of our dog.



Needless to say, we had to put our dog to sleep....
