Winks is the worst. I took my eclipse there to get a spoiler put on it. He said he physically couldn't do it because the metal is too think, and if he did it would fly off if I went over 30 MPH. He advised me to return it. I went to Scottie's out in Dryden, and he put it on for me without a problem. I went back there to give them a second chance, and got an estimate on a small dent on my car. He told me he couldn't pull the metal, and I would have to replace that whole piece, that would run me more than $600. Took it to a different mechanic and he told me the metal can be pulled, and it would run me about $200. Any place is better than wink's, if you're taking your car there you're probably wasting your time.

Having an insurance with Geico, it was really easy for me to set up the repair at Wink's. They kept their promise and we got our car back on time. The part that were repaired looks just like new as if nothing had happened and they even cleaned the inside of our car! It was a hassle free experience and I would highly recommend them.

Someone backed into me in a parking lot. The other person had Geico insurance. Geico was great about paying for the repairs. They sent me to Winks Body Shop in Ithaca where they have a Geico representative. He looked at the car and issued me a check on the spot. I could have taken it anywhere for the repairs but went with Winks because it was convenient and someone from my insurance company said they did great work. It was easy to set up - I left my car there while I was on vacation and they got it done. It needed additional work beyond what Geico had originally written the check for, but Winks was able to get the money from Geico and it didn't cost me a dime. They did great work and were great to work with. I was completely satisfied. I asked the owner whether it was worth fixing some other existing dents and he was honest enough to tell me it wasn't worth the cost given the age of the vehicle. Would definitely recommend them. #13838

I had a fantastic experience with Wink's Body Shop. We had a minor car accident that damaged two of our doors on one side. Wink's personnel was able to help us find a used door that looks perfect and therefore decrease our out of pocket expense substantially. They were willing to work with us to figure out how best to repair the car and gave us the most competitive quote in town (I got three additional quotes from other shops). The car was finished 1 day early and returned to us looking great on the outside, and also vacuumed and cleaned on the inside (a nice surprise!) The customer service is also excellent. I would highly recommend this body shop to anyone.

I really messed up passenger side mirror and I swear these guys made it look like nothing ever happened. It only took about half an hour and I was impressed by how well of a job they did in such short period of time and on short notice considering i called an hour before i showed up! worth every penny!

I wanted to have some cosmetic...

I wanted to have some cosmetic work done on a used vehicle. Winks was recommended. The initial work order was to have cost more than I could afford, so I stopped in ahead of my appointment time to eliminate some repairs. When I picked up the car, I noticed some things were done that I'd eliminated from the work order and some were not done. I went back in and discussed the matter with Winks. We negotiated what seemed like a fair deal. In the end, I spent more than I planned. However, because of the negotiated deal, I walked away in the end with more work done for a reasonable cost. I'd recommend asking a representative to accompany you to the car before settling your bill, which should be a standard practice anyway (along with a freshly washed car). Would I go back...probably. After having a couple of deer run out in front of me, my car needed to have a number of repairs in the front and the the side. I was very pleased with the courteous and prompt attention that I received at Wink's Body Shop. The car looks great; and I'd recommend them to anyone who needs to have car damage repaired. They even cleaned the interior of my car. I wish that I could find someone who would take care of my auto repairs so honestly.

I collided with two deer while away from home. I had no prior workings with Winks, which was recommended by my insurance company. The friendly and professional staff at Winks took over the process, towing the car, providing repair updates and working with my schedule. Additional damage was discovered once the repair was underway, and Winks coordinated the extras with my insurance company. It has been a month since I took delivery and the car runs and looks great. Overall, a very positive experience. Invoice #10586

This is a no-brainer. Winks offers personal, thoughtful, efficient service, and fair prices. They are both friendly and fussy about the quality of the repairs they do. When it isn't right on final inspection it gets done again. We are lucky to have a body shop like Winks in Ithaca! 10368

No good for rust

Pay $440.00 to have them grind rust off bottom edge of tailgate, fill with a water-impermeable fiberglass putty, and repaint. They verbally stated that it is a one year fix. Two weeks (not two months, not two years) later it rusts through the paint and is bubbling where the rust isn't coming through. They say tough crap, no warranty.

I didn't expect a warranty, I expected a one year fix, not a two week fix. Use these guys at your own risk for any kind of grinding and patching rust repair.

As a bonus, they sprayed Armor-All (for free) all over my windshield glass and instrument panel and left it dripping in rivulets down the steering wheel and in puddles on the dashboard.

I must start by saying that We will not do any stuff and fluff putty rust repairs. This was a misunderstanding. I had told the shop manager that we do not do that kind of repairs just for this reason. Rust repairs can not be warrentied. Its like human cancer even when you think you have cut it all out it starts somewhere else. when you fill it with putty moisture get between it and the metal and it bubbles. may take a week might last a year.so we dont fix them that way. you have to put new panels on to get rid of the problem. The manager thought he was doing this person a favor and doing what they wanted. I had told him no. Sorry that this happened. Would be willing to make it right if this customer want to return an repair it propperly
