Hangar Theatre, located in Ithaca, N.Y., is a nonprofit professional regional theater that produces plays and serves as a learning environment for young theater professionals. Established in 1975, the theater is also known as The Center for the Arts at Ithaca. Through its Lab Company, the theater offers a summer repertory training program for young professionals in acting, directing, design and playwriting. The Lab Company runs during the Hangar's summer season from June through August and selects artists through a competitive national search. Its Next Generation School of Theatre offers classes to students in grades three through 12 in acting, scene study, singing, dance, playwriting, theatrical production, clowning, masking and radio voice-over. Hangar Theatre offers various subscription options as well as discounts.
