Don't waste your time or money like we did with this company. It's been 9 months since we hired them to build a deck for us and it still isn't finished. Despite all of their promises to come and fix what's left, it's been 3 months since they've been back, and have been ignoring our phone calls and messages (even though they've seen them). We were also told that they would give us some of our money back, but when we recently asked for a partial refund so we can fix the deck ourselves, they again, didn't respond. BBB F rating due to several complaints for poor customer service. Photos for reference.

WKS Construction was hired to build a deck at the back of our house in January of 2019. They told us this was going to be a 2 week job. We paid about 75% of the cost upfront for materials. The last time they were here was in June 2019 to fix a number of items, including boards cut crooked, 6x6 pole not level, concrete not installed correctly just to name a few that they claim was the fault of an employee they said was trying to sabotage their projects (although they continued to let him work on our deck). The entire process was terrible; we had to, more or less, force them to come out each time to actually work on it. Responses would often take a week or more. The deck was not built according to their plans or Jefferson County building codes and had to be re-worked several times throughout the process in order to pass inspection. Jefferson County failed the deck once because these plans were not followed when they claimed they only had a few minor things to work on. We were hassled several times for payment before the job was even complete because they didn't have the money to finish the project/pay their crew.

To this day, there are several things left undone that we were assured would be complete within a week. They had a few boards to straighten/replace, wood filler to sand & seal, and a trim piece to add to the stairs. Since the wood filler was never sanded and sealed, it has all been washed out by the rain and needs to be re-done.

The cedar walk boards were not sealed properly and are molding. WKS has not given us a date as to when they can come back out and fix these issues. They have become unresponsive.
