It’s my favorite bookstore in Johnson County!

Worth scheduling a browsing appointment and staying later on our recent trip to Iowa City. A crown jewel of used bookstores, The Haunted Bookshop has friendly and helpful staff, two kitties, and rooms upon rooms to explore. Already looking forward to our next visit!

So many interesting books, games and puzzles and lovely cats. I could have spent a whole afternoon there!

My friends and I booked a browsing hour at the Haunted Bookshop and it was such a lovely time! Of course, we started off our visit by giving some attention to the cats (after washing our hands and following proper mask protocol) and they were so happy to see us. I went in looking for a couple different authors and left with two books by both of them, a great puzzle, and a box of artist greeting cards I can't wait to send out to friends. And there were so many games and books I want to check out next time! Highly recommend this store for a cozy experience.

The Haunted Bookshop is a terrific place! Browsing is easy due to the labeling, organization of the store and helpful courtesy of staff. Our trip there today was my son's birthday request and we were not disappointed. Make an appointment!
