I don't fully understand the reviews that tout the "family friendly" atmosphere of Renee's, unless of course they mean that the owner totally leaves you alone. I've gone a few times, mostly at the prodding of my daughter, who loves painting ceramics, and what I've observed on each occasion is the following: Renee mostly just sits at her desk, painting her own pieces, and chatting occasionally on her phone. She barely offers help, acts bothered when you do ask for help, and seems perturbed that there are children around at all. It's a shame that the owner is such a pill-- doesn't make for a very welcoming environment, especially for kids.
