Don't make my mistake; get a quote UP FRONT for labor charges. A2Z charged me $94 per hour, plus tax, for routine plumbing work.

When I told Darline, a co-owner, that I believed I was RIPPED OFF, she assured me that was their standard rate unless you had a service contract with them. Oh, now I feel much better.

They could not figure out the problem with furnace despite fixing it twice. Not able to help me resolve the issue.

A to Z mechanical has always provided quick service. However, this business severely inflates their prices. The last time they serviced an issue in my home, they spent 30 minutes and charged us for 1.5 hours of labor. The service call before that they serviced my rental property and tightened a washer under the sink, and the bill was over $200. I expected this type of behavior from some of the other businesses in Iowa City, but not from this family owned business.
