When I was shopping here I saw plastic containers with a mix of random beads. I peeled back the tape on several of them to see the beads because many were not transparent. As I was doing so I was yelled at by a women with a very dirty look on her face. She said "Do not open those!". I told her that I could not see the merchandise, and there was no response from her. I asked to speak to the manager and told her how rude her employee was to me. She assumed the worst: that I was planning to shoplift. I have worked customer service and now work in public service, and I know this is not the way to treat others ethically nor in the business world. This is supposedly an organization for a missionary cause yet I was treated like a criminal. I suggested they put signs up asking customers to ask for assistance rather than yelling at them for trying to see items for sale. The manager told me that signs do not work because customers don't read them. I said that I knew this would not work for everyone. In my profession I know this will not solve the problem, but it would prevent such horrible customer service and cover their backs in instances like this. When I left they still had not put up a sign. All I was given was a "sorry" when I had first told them how I felt but nothing further. Great prices and ideas, but wow-I will not be shopping there again!

The store is clean and fairly well organized. The prices are more reasonable than many thrift stores I've visited and they run daily tag specials of 75%, 50%, and 25% off certain color tags. They also have 1/2 price days where everything in the store is 50% off. I find a lot of great deals there on a regular basis and they benefit Wheeler Mission Homeless Shelter, which I think is an added bonus.
