The Salvation Army Indiana Division operates more than 25 corps and centers of service and thrift stores. The parent organization, founded in 1865 to help the impoverished in London s East End, has functioned worldwide for more than 140 years. As of 2005, the Christian charity has expanded to include more than 100 countries, and the gospel is preached by its officers in more than 160 languages. It also offers crisis residential, intensive outpatient and residential rehabilitation programs.
