I am a caucasian female, I recently had a appointment for a massage at Philipe's Spa. When I arrived there was a group of africian american women who were obviously there before me waiting for service. One of the women was celebrating her 50th birthday.
I noticed that no one at the front desk paid much attention to them, they weren't asked if they wanted a beverage nor were they escorted to the locker area to change into the robes I know this place provides.
I overheard two of the women talking, they were wondering what was taking so long and why they had not been escorted to the locker room to change.
To make a long story short, these women were finally escorted back to the massage area but by another entrance, they were never allowed to go to the locker room to undress and get comfy in one of those white robes. These women were there for a while as they all had massages, manicures and pedicures. Despite how they were being treated they were pleasant and were making the best of it. When they were taken back for their massages I was offered a glass of juice or water. Why weren't the offered the same?
Their were several staff at the front desk this entire time and no one treated these women with any diginity or respect. This is embarrassing to me. not to mention unprofessional and rude. Of course the service I recieved seemed alot different from what these women
recieved. Is this how Philipe's treats their clientel of color? Apparently so,If I were a women of color Philipe's
would be the last place I would patronize. As a matter of fact, I don't think Philipe's is a place I want to patronize in the future.

I highly recommend the 60 minute massage! It is wonderful! The therapist listens to your suggestions as to what you need! The spa is very clean and well maintained! The staff is very friendly and professional. Try the spa and you'll love it! When family and friends are at a lost as to what gift to give me, they know that a gift card from Philipe's will score high on my list!

I JUST WANT TO SAY WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE, THERE MAY BE LOTS OF NEW SPAS IN INDIANAPOLIS, BUT THE ORIGINAL IS STILL THE BEST, IT IS A BIT HARD TO GET THRU ON THE PHONE BUT BELIEVE ME IT IS WORTH IT. THE SERVICE PROVIDERS ARE GREAT AND HAVE BEEN THERE FOR A LONG TIME. TAKE THE CHANCE, SUFFER THE WAIT, IT IS WORTH IT.
