My son is a tenants at North Oaks. He moved in Oct 2011 and in December his toilet quit flushing. It took them 2 months to fix it. They would send maintenance who told my son that there was nothing wrong with it although they could not get it to flush. They said there was nothing they could do. We ended up having to privately get it fixed. At the beginning of the heat this summer, his air conditioning went out. He called the management office about 17 times and every time he called they told him that he had never called before, that this was the first time they were hearing about it, and that they would send someone. He ended up having to buy a window air conditioning unit because they could not fix it because they "didn't have the right parts". Again after about 2 months they finally fixed the problem. He has called about 4 times now about his garbage disposal that does not work. The management has not sent maintenance nor returned his phone calls. So last night, maggots started coming out of his sink when the dishwasher was turned on. Maggots. If they are in the drain, they are getting into the drains of other apartments. They again did not send maintenance nor did they call. If you move here, not only will you be living in a filthy complex with screen doors hanging off and chipping paint, but you may have a maggot infested apartment. They will not take care of you, and expect you to live in the filth they provide, but if you attempt to withhold payment of rent until they provide adequate living conditions, they will sue so quickly. They only want the money and they want you to live in disgusting conditions and pay for it. Do not choose these apartments. They should be condemned, not rented.
