M & K Quality Truck Sales was incorporated in 1989, when successful salesperson, Ron Meyering bought the used truck inventory of a leasing company to become an entrepreneur in his own right. Over the next decade, Ron steadily grew the business, and when the opportunity to acquire Volvo truck dealerships in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo came along in 2002, he added these high-quality new trucks – as well as a second location – to the company. The Mack brand was added to the M & K family in Kalamazoo in 2003, and that location moved to an expanded facility the following year. 2006 was a year of major growth for M & K when we acquired the Mack franchise in Grand Rapids, and the company’s West Michigan footprint grew with the addition of a Holland parts and service location and a body shop in Dorr. In 2010, M & K acquired a dealership in Indianapolis, Indiana, and then in 2011 added Mack trucks to its product offerings. 2012 saw the move of the company’s Body Shop in West Michigan to a Grand Rapids suburb of Wyoming, adding capacity and establishing it as M & K Truck & Trailer, LLC. M & K expanded into the Chicago-area market in late 2012 with the acquisition of three dealerships there: Chicago Mack, Chicago Truck and Mack of Joliet, allowing the company to become the largest Mack/Volvo dealer group in the Midwest, and among the largest in the U.S. Feeling the need to shift it’s corporate strategy to take on a stronger vision and enable continued growth – M & K Quality Truck Sales became M&K Truck Centers in May of 2014. Being full-service dealerships and employing more than 400 talented people, the dealership network in Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan proudly feature their new brand identity of M&K Truck Centers. 2014 has proven to be a big year for M&K Truck Centers after announcing their name change. They expanded their Byron Center service facility an additional 11,050 square feet bringing capacity to 31 full service bays for their growing customer base. M&K opened a facility in Kokomo, Indiana to offer general service and repairs, parts, rental and leasing vehicles and contract maintenance for their customers. And they relocated their Holland parts and service building to double the capacity and are constructing a new state-of-the art dealership off I-94 in Kalamazoo opened in December. Continuing on its growth trajectory, M&K absorbed its Melrose Park parts operation into a new 70,000 sq. ft. dealership in Des Plaines, IL. This move created additional job opportunities for the company and enhanced customer support near the O’Hare airport. Also, in a strategic move to be have the best locations for their dealerships, this new facility brings M&K to a total of 4 in the Chicago area. They are also able offer their our own financing for truck purchases through M&K Financial.
