My wife and I are looking to adopt. I found Kirsh and Kirsh online at IndianaAdoption.com and had several questions. We have spent months researching different agencies, facilitators, and attorneys. Steve Kirsh took my call, spent 45 minutes giving me candid answers to some very difficult questions. I appreciate his 30 years experience in the adoption field and felt I was speaking with a very honest person. He is by far the most knowledgable adoption professional I have talked to.

I wish we had found Kirsh when we started our adoption journey. When we started, we did not know anyone that had completed a successful domestic adoption in the last 5 years. We tried a less expensive agency, but it was not a good fit. Kirsh did a really good job of talking us through match situations and helping us assess risk. We originally started the adoption process with another agency approximately 3.5 years ago and were unsuccessful. After this heartbreaking experience, we decided to retain Kirsh & Kirsh for several reasons. First, was due to their excellent reputation. We retained Kirsh and Kirsh in September of 2012 and were successfully matched with our healthy baby girl in February of 2013.

We had heard of Kirsh & Kirsh’s excellent reputation for years, and had met several couples that had used their services. When we made the decision to expand our family through adoption, they were our first choice. From our first initial meeting to follow up visits to show off our adopted son, the entire staff was amazing. They truly are a family run business, and you experience that from the very beginning. What can be a very emotional journey with many turns; Steve, Joel and staff were all by our sides the entire time and provided the words and encouragement we desperately needed.

After having been successfully matched and taken home our baby through Kirsh & Kirsh, I would like to write another review of their practice. The people that work for Kirsh & Kirsh are truly special. They understand that they are changing lives for the adoptive family, the brave birth mother, and most importantly the child. They have a deep love for adoption. When we met everyone in their office with our new baby, it was like one big happy family. Of course most of their staff are related. They were so excited for us. It is a good feeling having that family surrounding you in the mountain top experience you are having with your new baby. I cannot say enough that Kirsh & Kirsh would be an outstanding choice for you to grow your family!

I cannot say enough good things about the people at Kirsh & Kirsh. Their professionalism blended with their huge hearts and how much they care about each and every individual was amazing. My wife and I were always well informed, received timely responses and they were able to accommodate all of our requests. We had the pleasure of working with Kirsh and Kirsh to adopt our son Aidan. As one can imagine, the process of adopting a child can be an emotional and stressful experience. However, I cannot think of anyone I would rather have guiding me through the process than Steve and Joel Kirsh and the staff at their firm. When we had questions there was always someone available to take our call and provide answers. And, if something had to be researched or looked into they always got back to us in a timely manner. They were not only accessible, but also approachable. (I really appreciated that as I got closer to our son’s expected arrival date they were very patient with my neurotic-first-time-mother questions and reassured me that everything would be okay!) While they were very encouraging throughout the process they were also very honest and explained possibilities to us so we could be prepared in case we hit any bumps along the road.



In addition to being there for us, the Kirshes were also a comfort to our birthmother whom we were matched with using the Kirsh Directed Approach. Our birthmother is a phenomenal young woman and we are so grateful that we were able to match with her. The fact that Kirsh and Kirsh did all the work to find her through the Directed approach took that stress off of our plate so that we could focus on preparing to become parents. And, although they always made it clear that the firm represented us, they answered any of our birthmother’s questions so that she had the information she needed to continue with her adoption plan. I know that she appreciated having a resource to call on and I was grateful that she didn’t feel alone during what was a very emotional and difficult time for her.



From helping us get our approval process started, to editing our birthmother letter, to finding the most wonderful birthmother and son, to celebrating with us on Adoption Day, I cannot think of a more qualified or more caring team of individuals to guide you through the adoption process. My husband and I adopted our son through Kirsh and Kirsh. They came highly recommended to us through close friends. Our entire adoption process took eight months from beginning to end. We are not from Indiana and worried that this would make the process longer and more difficult. It couldn't have gone any smoother. Kirsh and Kirsh is a family owned and operated firm, and it shows. We traveled to Indiana one time...and that was to meet our son and take him home. From the beginning of my pregnancy, I knew I wanted to choose adoption. I knew from the depths of my heart it was the best option for Max. As difficult as it was to have to make that kind of life changing decision, he would never have the father figure he deserved. With adoption, he would be able to have the solid ground in which he deserved. When you decide to go with adoption it can be intimidating. Luckily, I had a family chosen by the time I was 3 and a half months pregnant. Since they did not live in Indiana, they had to choose a lawyer inside Indiana to work with the outside state. The adoptive family chose Kirsh & Kirsh. Although Kirsh and Kirsh did not represent me, Steve Kirsh made me feel like it was as though he truly cared about my side, my story, most importantly; my growing baby. I would highly recommend them. They will make you feel at ease, at home, secure, and they give you the confidence that you can rely on them. Throughout the whole experience, Steve Kirsh was always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was as easy and smooth sailing as possible. He met me at Starbucks not even a mile away from my home. From my experience with Kirsh & Kirsh, you cannot go wrong by choosing them.

Kirsh and Kirsh was a true find for us when we decided to pursue domestic adoption. They were responsive, knowledgeable, helpful, trustworthy, and honest. They were forthcoming with all information and we appreciated their effectiveness in getting us through the adoption process. I am always telling my husband how I should be an advocate for Kirsh and Kirsh and our daughter should be the poster child for adoption. We mainly worked with Steve and at times he gave me such comforting words over the phone as he guided us through the ups and downs of the adoption process. Recently I had to use Stephen Kirsh for an emergency adoption for my daughter. She had hidden her pregnancy from me and the whole family for 9 months. I did not think it was possible,but it is. I found out about her being pregnant on thursday night and took her to the delivery room saturday night. I called him at 9 oclock in the morning and he was at the hospital by 3 oclock in the afternooon. With a 3 hour drive to get their. He arrived with all the needed documents to compleat the adoption. It was an open adoption so she and I could pick the addopttion parents. When I met him he was the most pleasent and knowelageable lawer that I had ever met. He knew exactly what had to be done and explaned every part of it. He explained every step in the process so my daughter and I felt 100% better about it when he was finished.



If this would ever arise again I would use Steven Kirsh again without any reserve. I would recommend his agency to anyone that is is considering an addoption. His knowage and freindlyness will ease your mind and make the process much less painful.

My wife and I adopted twin girls from another state, Kirsh & Kirsh handled all of the Indiana paper work and court hearings. Steve Kirsh went "the extra mile" in our adoption, handling things that wasn't even his responsibility, and didn't charge extra for this help. Steve has always replied to emails very quickly, answering questions before, during, and even after our adoption. I met Joel at our final court hearing and he was great as well. Everything went exactly as he said it would. Steve and Joel have built a wonderful business and also a great staff.

My husband & I began the adoption process about a year and a half ago. The process is a bit overwhelming.
