I have been a student at Kayes...

I have been a student at Kayes for over a year now. I must say you can not put a cost on what you gain as a student here. If you are like me and prefer learning with your hands and find book work to be a little more challenging this is the school for you. The other students are so talented and the teachers are so smart you can not help but to become better everyday. This staff of teachers are amazing, caring individuals. They go above and beyond to make sure you graduate. All you have to do is come...

Kaye's is a great beauty college. The school is full of eager individuals with talent and creativity. This has to be the best place for the best ethnic hair care in the city at the best prices. The staff are polite and present on the salon floor. And the students at this school possess not only the book knowledge but the technical skill as well. True masterpieces walk out of the door everyday.

I am a proud student of Kayes

I have been a student of Kayes since October. I am a cosmetology student. I came to Kayes back in 2004 and my head wasn't screwed on well because I had too much responsibilities so I was unsuccessful in completing, so I tried to go to Regency in 2008 and I just hated that school, they didn't teach me hardly anything so I dropped out and transferred back to Kayes. Well I had a lot of problems to where it made me have to leave school again because I had to get a job to take care of my family. Well I finally got my life back on track and have enough help and resources to allow me to come back to school and finish. I have 800 hours as of today and I am for sure that I will make it successfully. My dad was a student at Kayes and so was his mother (my grandmother) and they speak highly of Kayes. I never knew I could cut a piece of hair until I met Mr. Ross. He is the bomb when it comes to teaching his students cuts and everything they need to know in order to get ready for the real world. I never knew I could do up-dos and all the famous styles until I met Ms. Martha........she is super tight in anything you want and need to know......and thanks to Miss Karissa.....I was terrified to do freeze curls and she worked with me and showed me how to do it and now I take freeze curl clients with pride. I love to see Miss Kay herself interact with us and personally talk to me and let me know she is here for me anytime. She is such a pleasure to talk to and always smiles. Miss Marie is like my school mom, she keeps me on track and really shows us that this ain't no play thing and really prepares us for dealing with clients, products, helps me increasd my speed and keeps me smiling. I love Kayes. A lot of people are going to these other schools just to get a lum sum of money and either drop out once its issued or once they graduate they don't even attempt to do hair because they didn't learn anything. Well I can honestly say that I have learned everything I need to know and am sure that I will make a good living off of what I learned at Kayes Beauty College. Its like a second home to me and I am proud to be a student and encourfage anyone who is serious about wanting to learn how to do hair the right way to come and enroll at Kayes.

A recommendation for Kayes

My friend recommended Kayes in Casleton. I'm very specific about my hair, and the student/stylist assigned tp me was very receptive to my requests. Because she was a student, the procedure took a little longer so the instructor could check step, but the atmosphere is so positive and energetic the extra time didn't seem very long. She was very friendly and personable and she did a great job with my hair! I would highly recommend Kayes for anyone.

The WORST BEAUTY COLLEGE IN THE CITY!

I've been going to Kaye's for a long time AND every time I have to put up with that rude hag that sits up front. I don't know her name but she always got bad breath and wear this awful wig. BUT today, did it for me, I won't be going back there ever again. The students will start your hair, then get up & leave, and don't even bother to tell you they can't finish your hairstyle. Then someone else who can't do what you've requested attempts to the style and cannot. I actually sat there 15 minutes after the dryer went off waiting on my stylist who had left and didn't even tell me she'd left. I've filed complaint with the BBB to get a refund because the the girl was paid to do an eyebrow arch and just left. Plus most of the people up there are ghetto wanna-be queens. I've almost seen a fight between the owner Kaye and another customer. They need to shut the place down or hire some new people because their attitude SUCKS. Whatever you do..DONT GO TO KAYE's YOU'll be sorry that you went there.

The above review of services at our Castleton School has only been brought to my attention within the past 24 hours.. (I am aware the complaint is almost 2 years old.) I would like to address the situation that took place in our school. School's Mission Statement: Our mission is to train students to pass the state examination and prepare them for entry into the cosmetology/barber field. This is achieved through student, graduate and salon owner surveys, continued education and an ongoing improvement program. We will continue to supervise our students in their practice for preparation of their chosen field and attempt to see that this does not happen again.
