I recently brought my mother in because she wanted a simple trim and layers. Beforehand, she washed and blow dryed her hair to make the process easier for the hair stylist. We arrived and she told the lady she wanted high layers. The lady told her it would look ridiculous and if she wanted that type of look, she'd have to go to another salon because she refused to do that. Stunned. So then my mom asked about long layers, and we got the exact same response. She wasn't doing that and we'd have to go elsewhere if that's what she wanted. She explained that she refused to do layers because my mom "obviously wouldn't take care of them" meaning she wouldn't style her hair. Of course, she didn't know my mom's hair WAS styled before she came in and that she washed and dryed it prior to coming in that day. So not only had she been incredibly rude to us from the get-go, but now she was also insulting my mother. Trying to make light of a tense situation with an incredibly rude hair stylist, I jokingly suggested a mullet. She gave us the same response (go elsewhere if you want that) with 10 times more attitude. At that point my mom and I were both stunned at this lady's unprofessional and down, rude and insulting demeanor, so I walked away before the situation escalated. At that point, she seemed almost confrontational. I didn't catch the lady's name, and the only details I have was that the woman was extremely overweight with blonde hair. What's worse, was that it was Mother's Day and rudeness to that degree definitely put a slight damper on what was meant to be a very special day.
