10/5/09 Went to doctor in the morning because I was sick and came back to a door that had been pried open. The door that had been requested to be fixed 3 different times from us. Went in to my apartment to find that the 50 in tv was taken, 2 laptop computers, several video games, the box to play them on, and a whole bunch of other things. Called 911 3 times and finally 2 hours later the police showed up. There is a police officer that works in the office and he was on the property and didn't show up until our officer showed up and then they proceeded to talke outside to each other. They said that they would send a forensic guy to check on fingerprints in just a little while and it got so late that the complex fixed the door before they could get here (at 9pm) wiping clear of any evidents that might have been there. Now I fear for my safety in my own apartment and even though it was the complexes fault that the door was not secured properly, they are saying that our 3 requests to have it fixed are not on file so therefore it can't be used and we cannot move because they will not let us out of our lease. It is very unnerving that all of this happened in broad daylight when people around and no one called the police. Well I have to live here unless I want to pay over $3,000, but you don't have to move in so I definitely would rethink signing a lease here no matter how cheap of rent they give you.
