If you stop by during lunchtime, be prepared to wait — and believe us, it’s worth it. You can almost set your watch to when regulars bombard the beachside eatery. At Philly’s Finest, they pack on the meat. The sheer weight of the sandwich is impressive.



“Our sandwiches,” according to owner Kem Forlano, “just melt in your mouth.”



On a traditional 9-inch sandwich, Forlano uses 7.5 ounces of ribeye. The 12-inchers get 10 ounces; piled on an Amoroso roll with onions and mushrooms, it equals to about a pound of food.



The staff follows the recipes from the previous owner, Nicholas Arena, who is from Philadelphia. He banned Cheez Whiz, so don’t bother asking for it. Instead, Forlano swears by Cooper Sharp American cheese, which gives the cheesesteak a creamy consistency and complements the juiciness of the ribeye.



Although it’s a hefty sandwich, the Amoroso roll never falls apart. That’s what separates hoagie rolls from the bread flown in from Amoroso’s Baking Co.



While Petrillo praises the meat, he’s a little miffed Philly’s Finest won’t budge on their non-Cheez Whiz rule.

Hands down, absolutely, THE BEST, Philly Cheese Steak ever. You get what you pay for, and the quality is superb. Everything on the menu I have tried has been top notch!
