My husband and I turned in our apartment cleaner than what we received it and now they do not want to return our deposit because she says it was dirty which that is not true unfortunately I did not take any pictures to prove that and now they say this stuff . management withmichael was much better.people don't waste your time renting here.

I lived at Burning Tree Apart...

After having had lived at Burning Tree Apartments for many years, I can say it does have some good points to go along with the bad ones. Anytime anything needed fixing, Bruce the Maintenance Man, was on it and did an excellent job! The apartments make good use of living space, the closets are plenty big, there are separate storage units for every apartment in each laundry facility and the pool is lovely! Now, for the down side of the property:(

There are many issues with Burning Tree Apartments. The apartment manager Michael is horrid to deal with if you have a complaint. If it doesn't affect him, he doesn't want to hear about it. I have talked with present and past tenants whom have complained with how he treats tenants and issues concerning Burning Tree. It's unfortunate that the present tenants feel that they can't voice their concerns with Michael Russell. In our discussions, it has been voiced that they don't want to create any animosity between the two parties because they are afraid that Michael will continue to dismiss their concerns as pure nonsense. They are afraid of their leases not being renewed and oh, yes, he does make things personal and will not renew your lease if he feels he cannot put you in your place.

If it seems like I am picking on the apartment manager, I am not. I just feel it is very important to stand up for those who can't or won't. Instances include but are not limited to: He makes a point to reprimand tenants like they have been naughty children if he happens to disagree with you over an issue you may have here or if you bother him at a time that is inconvenient to him. He is a huge gossip and tells everyone whom will listen the goings on of current and past tenants personal issues that should be treated with privacy. It is like Melrose Place, so if you don't want your dirty laundry aired, don't ever stand up for yourself or get on the wrong side of the Apartment Manager, Michael Russell.

I don't think they are doing proper background checks on individuals that are being allowed to rent here because there has been such a massive turnover of people moving out and leaving a lot of units open, it makes a need for a fast cash enterprise.

Also, the ratio of crimes committed here have been on the increase in the past several years. Past and present tenants tell of the same stories of cars getting broken into constantly, drug use and distribution, domestic disturbances, and don't get me started with how many drunken and homeless people wander off of 40 Hwy and create disturbances out in the parking lots. Again, I have spoken to past and present tenants about these situations and have been witness to them as well.

The response time to 911 calls takes about 30 plus minutes, so if you happen to report a crime, they may be able to apprehend them a third of the time.

So, if you do not value your privacy, do not command respect for you and your property, then I guess this is the place for you. If you value your integrity, life, family and property, then run as far away from this place as possible. Rent is cheap for a reason. Happy apartment hunting to you all. God Bless!

By the way, I do want to report that I was a good tenant, here for many years, never late with rent and I did get my deposit back in full. Just because some of us do voice our complaints in person or via a review about an apartment complex or the way it is being run, has nothing to do with being a happy or disgruntled past or present tenant.

I lived at Burning Tree Apartm...

I lived at Burning Tree Apartments for several years and experienced none of the problems about which the former two posters were addressing. It is a clean and quiet complex, priced very reasonably for the area and impeccably run both by Shryock Realty and Michael, the manager there. He has been in apartment management for many years and his professionalism and genuine concern for the complex and it's residents shows in how well it is run. I found the management to be fair and consistent in their treatment of matters. I can only assume that the last post commenting on his "homosexuality" was an attempt at a prank, as I have known Michael's ex-wife for years. He has never been less than completely professional in my experience dealing with him, as well as the friends I know who have also lived at Burning Tree Apartments.
