They may be a no kill shelter now! But they definitely don't run it right and are very rude! And people try coming with animals found dumped are mostly turned down! Always told they r full but dog control or cops bring them and they aren't full over all bad experience for a lot of people! And rude!

DEFINITELY NOT A HUMANE SOCIETY! The board of directors are not people who care about the humane treatment of animals. Nor are they intelligent enough to realize there are currently no alternatives when it comes for places to take homeless/stray/found animals in this area. They have taken away what was once a humane society and ruined the legacy of Rita B. Huff. They no longer accept any strays, "We're at full capacity" she said to me with disdain (so I'm the bad guy for trying to help a stray I found, apparently). Their "no-kill" "adoption center" encourages people to dump animals outside of the city limits, because you won't get fined outside of the city limits. I'm not kidding, the Animal Control Officer told me that! Oh well, no big deal, if an animal starves to death or gets hit by a car. THINK THEIR HANDS ARE CLEAN? get a grip. I used to volunteer, but I will never go back they are warehousing animals and have not a clue how to run an 'adoption center'.
