Back in the 1980's and 90's this was the place to go. Due to an almost fatal dirt bike accident I was left with a compound fracture of femur that just did not want to heal and another fracture of the femur that healed at a deformed angle. Dr. Burnside took my case after my Military Dr. left the area. After 2 years not showing signs of healing I was referred to Dr. Burnside. Wow! It took multiple operations on femur and left knee over a period of several years, but he saved my leg when the military was ready to amputate. He is my Hero!! He put a smile on my face and a new found hope that I desperately needed during that time. Dr. Burnside is more than a 5 Star Dr.. But now that he is retired, this place is nothing, I have been there twice and will not go back. I just can't find anyone in Al. that I'm comfortable with or trust. It's really bad out there if you have orthopaedics problems especially if they are serious!!😕

Quackery, in depth. Installed a partial knee which failed immediately but took a year to get TOC to admit it. Complained of severe, acute pain and was told by their doc I complained too much, and my xray showed my knee device to be perfect. Later, a bone scan showed it was loose. Sportsmed is no better. Get out of the Huntsville area if you need good medical care.
