DeVivo AST is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama where we provide software and systems engineering expertise. Our focus on Robotics and Unmanned Systems, along with our Decision Analytics capabilities provide a varied and interesting work environment. DeVivo Engineers have diverse backgrounds ranging from military management, commercial robotics, medical devices and research laboratories.DeVivo is not your typical robotics company in that we do not build robots, but focus instead on the current challenges of interoperability, communications and intelligence specific to unmanned and robotic systems. The company offers products and services across all unmanned system domains - ground, air, sea and space. We promote the use of industry standards to further the maturation of the industry. Additionally, DeVivo products are based on the AS-4 JAUS standard to ensure cross-platform compatibility. The DeVivo staff provides technical expertise, management and leadership in numerous engineering disciplines. Experience covers all aspects of unmanned systems software and systems development including embedded systems, control systems, distributed systems, interoperability solutions, training aids and simulations.DeVivo's commitment to the future of robotics and unmanned systems is seen in our efforts to further the standards, offer open source software and support education activities such as the AUVSI student competitions. In anticipation of impending industry needs, our company founders and staff work to develop and promote emerging Unmanned Systems Standards. We provide key leadership and guidance to existing standards bodies through the Society of Automotive Engineers Technical Committee on Unmanned Systems ( AS-4 ), otherwise known as JAUS. Ralph ( Woody ) English, a company founder and president, has been an integral part of the JAUS standards development since its inception in 1997. Mr. English has served as the Chair of the SAE AS-4 ( JAUS ) Technical Committe for Unmanned Systems since October 2004.DeVivo AST, Inc participated in the 2007 Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's ( DARPA ) Urban Challenge as part of "Team Autonomous Solutions".
