service is fantastic, staff are really friendly, and nails were done in an excellent manner. previous reviews were from the old owner, and let me say this, the old management was actually quite frantic and I was about to give up on this place , but I decided to give it another try, to my luck, there was a new owner. they made a major improvement on the services and design of the salon. I was shocked and will come here more often.

Save your money for someone th...

Save your money for someone that deserves it. I have been to this nail salon twice. After my first experience I am not sure why I went back for round 2 but I'll explain both to you and allow you guys to make your decision. My first visit started out enjoyable, getting a pedicure but as the experience continued I realized that the owners mom or someone's old relative was providing my service and questionable whether or not she had a license. The other employees kept telling her how to do a pedicure and when it came time to paint the nails, I was having to tell her the order of painting the base layer, two coats of paint, top coat, etc. You get the idea. Long story short, this woman had no business providing a pedicure and my gut tells me she wasn't licensed. My second experience was yesterday. I came in and asked for a Shellac manicure and a pedicure. I already had Shellac on my nails so they first asked me to soak my nails in Acetone. That's fine, normal protocol to get Shellac off. The lady first files the top of my nails to help get the paint off, in doing so, she cuts my finger. Fine accidents happen. Now with open wound, I'm putting my hand in Acetone. If you are looking at this review, you know that doesn't feel good. The woman proceeds to have me soak my fingers and abandons me for lack of a better explanation. She goes and sits at the front desk while eating lunch but somewhere along the way she starts playing games on her cell phone. As time goes by I'm looking for anyone to make eye contact with me as my Shellac is completely removed and ready to move on. (not to mention the burning) So after 15 to 20 minutes of soaking my hands in acetone, I remove my fingers and have scraped off all of the remaining Schellac on my own. The owner proceeds to yell at me "put your hands in the bowl." I am already displeased with my experience so I proceed to explain to him that my nails no longer have any polish on them and explain that I have been sitting there for close to 20 minutes. Meanwhile, the lady eating her lunch has no idea or care that I have been sitting there this long (and her lunch is still not finished since she has been playing games and not eating). Needless to say, I walked out at that point and will be taking my business elsewhere. If you are looking for great nail salons in Atascocita, I encourage you to go to Sorella's or the nail salon in the HEB shopping center. Both are fabulous!

THE KIND OF PEOPLE THEY REALLY ARE!!!

I was driving my friends car when it broke down in the same strip mall as Unique nails. I had my nine month old son with me and asked if I could beat the 100 degree heat inside while I called my father-in-law, who is best friends with the owner of a wrecker company. They said yes but after just 5 mins, I noticed them chattering angrily in Vietnamese. Then they told me that I was "hurting there business" by taking up a parking space near them and "I needed to hurry up and leave". Mind you, I was not in front of Unique Nails and while I was there, two other cars pulled up in front and walked into other stores. They had no customers to tend to and cont. to ask me when I was leaving. Thank God my ride and wrecker showed up moments after this. I was disgusted by there behavior, esp. since I was considering getting my toes done before my FIL said I would only be there 10-15 mins max. I just wanted to let everyone know how rude they were to me and my baby. I'll NEVER go back there.
