Twice this facility gave my grandfather 5 units of insulin when his blood sugar was normal. When my aunt found out immediately after it happened, she insisted they go check it again. Once she was told that the nurse had already spent too much time with my grandfather, and if she wanted a personal nurse she should have hired one. Grandpa's sugar hit 33 and we almost lost him. Two weeks before he died, we found Grandpa with a black eye. He said a nurse hit him, and he didn't have dementia or Alzheimer's. The home covered it up and called it an accident. The nurse in question left suddenly. A week later he fell into a comatose state, which lasted the week before his death. Then, knowing there would be an autopsy due to the state investigation of abuse allegations, they didn't have an RN on hand when he died. Let's get this straight....there were only CNA's...no nurses...in the nursing home. Do not let your loved ones come here.
