This particular Casa Ole was really good in the past, but the last few years, I have seen it go down, down, down. I frequent many of the Casa Oles in the area and am usually extremely pleased. But the one at Deerbrook Mall is supposed to be corporate, but doesn't have the same menus as corporate, makes enchiladas with FLOUR tortillas ( a big no-no), and if you go in the bar area, you have to beg the hispanic waitress to serve you. You have to ask several times for each item even though it is on the menu and you already ordered it. She will not refill drinks. She totally ignores any blacks-there was one in the group, the rest were hispanic. It seems that management is really bad at this one particular Casa Ole. I will continue to go to all the rest because this is the best Tex-Mex restaurant around. But when I am in Humble, I will go to Monterry's across the highway, which is a sister company and very well managed and delicious. Don't waste your time or your money at the one at the mall. It is really, really bad.

My first obvious experience of racism was here at casa ole in deerbrook mall today 2/15/15. I am a black female that went to dine by myself. I was the second person to be seated in the bar area. A white group was there before me and 2 white groups came after me. The Hispanic waitress totally ignored me. She took the orders from the last 2 white groups then walked right pass me and went and asked if the first group that had already been there was doing okay. I just sat there saying to my self wow she's definitely got to be a racist. I had been sitting there like 10 or 15 minutes already. I asked the bartender to speak to a manager. The manager was another Hispanic or white female. I let her know what happened and she offered to take my order for me and said she would let my waitress know about it. I asked to be moved to another area with another waitress or waiter because if my waitress has something against black people I reallt dont trust her handling my food but she said there was no room and that the bartender would be my waitress now. How I further know my original waitress ignored me intentionally is because she never came and apologized or anything. I know if I accidentally ignored someone as soon as I am made aware the first thing I would do is apologize but it is what it is. Racism. I've been eating casa ole for 15yrs. And I went faithfully to the one on 34th st until they closed it down. Never have I been treated like that until dining at the deerbrook mall location. I went last Sunday as well and had an Hispanic male waiter. My friend that I was with mentioned that he thought that our waiter was racist but I told my friend that maybe the waiter is not racist and maybe he's just a bad waiter but come to find out this Sunday he might have actually been a racist just like my waitress was today. Smh. It's a sad situation. I hope they get well soon.
